There’s nothing quite like the feeling of sticking your hand in an old jacket pocket and discovering a dollar bill inside. But what one Reddit user, Evilenglish, found deep in the closet of his Tennessee home took that feeling of discovery to a whole new level. It wasn’t an old jacket, but instead he found something much, much better!
The “something” in question was found in a closet.
Looks pretty ordinary…
Until one day he peeled back the carpet.
And found an old safe fitted with a combination lock.
A locksmith was called to get that bad boy open.
And with the lock removed…
The safe could be opened!
And he got his first glimpse of the treasure. But it didn’t look like much.
Just a bunch of junk. Or is it…?
Here’s a better view of the contents.
Looks like some coins and old paper!
The treasure just kept coming.
A lot of the insides had deteriorated quite a bit from water damage.
But not all of it was destroyed.
The paper was damaged but the coins were preserved.
Hi ho silver!
And some jewelry as well!
The treasure was then appraised at nearly $1000! So jealous!
What’s more, Evilenglish and his brother discovered yet another safe, this one in their coffee table, that held more valuable items such as old fashion pistols and a few rare “Barr Notes,” which were named after the former Secretary of the Treasury, Joseph W. Barr, who only held the office for 29 days! It’s hard to imagine finding anything this good in your pocket!
Share this with your friends and see if they ever found anything this awesome!
