The ’90s were a time of inflatable chairs, vast amounts of neon and baseball caps inexplicably worn backwards. And of course, this was also a decade filled with hugely iconic, influential ladies. In fact, during the ’90s a new kind of feminism was on the rise, and suddenly amazing women, sometimes playing other amazing women, could be seen on television screens every day. Naturally, the world still remembers these fantastic females even decades on, as the things they did helped set the groundwork for much of the entertainment, music and activism we experience today. 20. Linda Evangelista

Linda Evangelista was one of the biggest, richest supermodels of the ’90s, and she reveled in it. Remember when she told Vogue that she wouldn’t even wake up “for less than $10,000 a day?” Well, the model, who’s now 51, is still hugely influential in the fashion world – and still breathtakingly beautiful.

19. Courteney Cox

Courteney Cox became one of the most famous, and most highly paid, actresses of the ’90s with the TV series Friends, and she’s worked steadily since then. However, she’s also noted for having turned to plastic surgery in an attempt to keep her iconic “Monica” look. “Getting older has not been… I don’t think it’s the easiest thing,” she admitted during her appearance on the show Running Wild with Bear Grylls.
