The lion is one of the most feared predators in the world. They’re known to hunt and feast on all sorts of prey, large and small, earning their reputation as some of the baddest animals on the planet.

It’s that very reputation that made us fear for this injured bat-eared fox in Botswana’s Central Kalahari Game Reserve. While lying on a road, he was approached by a lioness… and what happened next is truly stunning.

The lioness spotted the injured and frightened fox in the middle of the road, and approached it with curiosity.
